Biography

Professor Afeisimi Dominic Badaiki is a Professor of Law. He attended the University of Jos, Bendel State University, University of Lagos, Nigerian Law School, and Institute of Leadership, Hawaii, United States of America. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Law as well as LL.B, two LL.M degrees, a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management. He is a solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and a Notary Public for Nigeria.

He was a lecturer, Lagos State University, Lagos, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, member of the Governing Council of the same University and member of the Council of Legal Education. Professor Badaiki, currently of the Faculty of Law, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Nigeria, is a legal practitioner, arbitrator, and member of the Edo State Multi-Door Court House.

He is a Visiting Fellow at the International Policy Forum and International Legal Platform in New York and Washington D.C respectively. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, and Institute of Management Consultants. He is also a member of Nigerian Institute of Management and Institute of Marketing of Nigeria. He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Freedom of Information Advocates Networks.

He has authored several books including Interpretation of Statutes, Consumer Protection and Standard Form Contracts in Nigeria, Corporate Law; Shareholders’ Control of Corporate Management and Privatisation and Commercialisation in Nigeria; Freedom of Information, Law, and Practice, and articles in learned journals in Nigeria and overseas. He has delivered papers at learned conferences in several countries.

He is the editor of Landmarks in Legal Development; Sowing Seeds of Justice and Legal Development; co-editor National Security, Intelligence-Led and Community Policing; Editor-in-Chief of a number of journals including International Journal of Business Law, U.S.A, and University Current Law Journal. He is on the Advisory Editorial Boards and Committees of numerous Journals. He is married with children.
